Seychelles can be expensive, but day-to-day fees are modest. The Ste Anne Marine Park costs Rs 200, a one-day bus pass SCR 100 and trail fees Rs 100 to Rs 250. The big costs are hotels, from €120 a night in Victoria to €486 on Cerf Island, and boat trips at $84 to $158.
Seychelles is expensive where it counts most: beds and boats. The two hotels on our Mahé list that publish rates charge €120 to €486 a night, and a shared day trip to Moyenne costs $84 to $158 a person. The public charges are modest by comparison. Entry to the Ste Anne Marine Park is Rs 200, a full day of buses is SCR 100, and most trails cost Rs 100 to Rs 250.
We only list prices we could trace to a dated source. There’s no “average daily budget” on this page, because we found none we could verify.
Seychelles prices: checked October 2026
Fees are in Seychelles rupees (SCR, written R or Rs). Tour prices are in US dollars as GetYourGuide showed them, retrieved in October 2026. Hotel and ferry prices are in euros as published.
Hotel Bel Air’s homepage says its prices are “exclusive of” something, but the text is cut off. Ask what is added before you compare it with Cerf’s all-in rate.
The single fare is not restated on SPTC’s site, and the government plans to cut it to six rupees by 2028. We found no taxi tariff newer than the last published cap (May 2023), so agree the fare with the driver before you get in.
Where the money goes
Hotels. Of the 12 places to stay in our where to stay in Mahé guide, only two publish a nightly rate. Hotel Bel Air, with 8 rooms in Victoria, starts at €120 for a twin. Cerf Island Resort, inside the marine park, runs from €415 to €486 for two with breakfast, plus €30 a head for the boat. Those two figures bracket the range we could verify, and nothing in between has a published price we could check.
The levy. Since 1 January 2026 the Tourism Environmental Sustainability Levy is SCR 75 per person per night at hotels with 25 to 50 rooms, and SCR 100 at hotels with more than 50 rooms, on yachts and at island resorts. The hotel adds it. For two adults spending a week at a large hotel, that’s SCR 1,400. Small establishments no longer charge it.
Boat trips. The Moyenne tours on GetYourGuide run from $84 to $158 per person. The gap is mostly about what’s included. The $158 catamaran includes the Moyenne landing fee and a guided walk; the $84 glass-bottom boat asks you to pay the Moyenne trail fee on site. Our how to visit guide explains both charges.
Getting between islands. A one-way economy ferry to Praslin is roughly €45 to €60. If you’re only going for a day, an organised trip at $171 to $298 bundles the boat and, on some trips, an entry fee such as L’Union Estate or the Vallée de Mai.
How to spend less in Seychelles
- Buy the bus pass, not taxis. Four days of unlimited buses costs SCR 198. Routes cover Victoria, Roche Caiman for Eden Island, and Beau Vallon. Just plan to be back before buses thin out after about 6.30 pm.
- Stay small. Guesthouses and small hotels stopped charging the levy in 2026, which saves up to SCR 100 per person per night compared with a large hotel.
- Check what your tour includes. The cheapest Moyenne tour, the St. Anne Marine Park, Moyenne & Cerf Island Tour, is our top pick for a budget: $84, the most reviewed at 1,185, with snorkelling and a barbecue on Cerf. Just budget for the Moyenne trail fee on top.
- Bring children under 12 free. SPGA parks don’t charge them, and children aged 12 and under are exempt from the hotel levy.
- Pick the free sights. Snorkelling at Fairyland, Anse Royale, is free from the beach. The Takamaka distillery runs free guided tours on weekdays and Saturdays; only the tasting costs SCR 175.
- Hire a car for longer. Hotel Bel Air takes 10% off car hire of 3 days or more.
- Stay on Mahé and day-trip. If Praslin and La Digue are a side trip rather than the point, one base saves a second set of transfers and the return ferry fare.
Paying: cards versus cash
Marine park fees are card only on site (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX or UnionPay), and SPTC buses are cashless. Taxis are the opposite: travel blogs say most drivers expect rupees in cash, though we found no official rule. Carry some rupees for taxis and a card for everything else.
