About this site
This is a small independent guide to Moyenne Island, the Ste Anne Marine National Park around it, and the parts of the Seychelles a day visitor is likely to combine with it. It is written and maintained by one person, independently.
It is not the island’s own website. Moyenne is managed by the Moyenne Island Foundation, and the marine park by the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA). This site has no connection to either, or to the Seychelles Tourism Board or any tour operator. Nobody pays to appear on it.
How we decide what goes on the site
Every page starts from sources we can name: SPGA for park fees and rules, the Seychelles Nation newspaper archive for the history of Moyenne and Brendon Grimshaw, BBC Travel, and operators’ own listings for tour details. Where sources disagree, and on Moyenne they often do, we say which figure we used and why.
There is a lot of legend attached to this island: pirate graves, buried treasure, ghosts. We include it, but folklore gets labelled as folklore. Where something is repeated everywhere and we cannot find a source for it, we leave it out.
Fees, timetables and prices carry the date we checked them. Those change without warning, so we link to the official page or the operator and tell you to confirm before you go.
Tours and how we make money
Tours on this site link to GetYourGuide. If you book through one of those links we earn a small commission, and the price you pay is the same as it would be otherwise. Some pages that link to hotels may also earn a commission through Stay22. We do not run the tours and we are not GetYourGuide. The full explanation is on our affiliate disclosure page.
Tell us when we are wrong
Fees go up, boats change schedule, a restaurant closes. If you find something out of date or plainly wrong on this site, email info@moyenneisland.com with the page and what you saw. Corrections are welcome; we would rather hear it from you than leave it standing.
